Description

Paul Frère was doubtless one of the greatest Belgian racing drivers of all time. He won the Le Mans 24 hours and competed in F1 races occasionally, almost always with excellent results. But he did much more than that, he was active in all categories of motorsport, from touring cars to Mille Miglia.

In his lifetime Paul Frère wrote more than 20 books and thousands of articles for car magazines throughout the world. But nobody has written a book about this man who was both a journalist and a successful racer. This book retraces the key moments of his life, and lots of interesting or amusing stories which peppered his career. Those who have known him all agree: his passion for the motor car was an all-devouring one, and his competence in this field was recognized worldwide. He was kind and generous to a fault; and finally he had an energy and a vitality, which would have made him a centenarian had it not been tor two serious accidents towards the end of his life.
